Introduction of new enrichments and their behavioural effects
The aim of the research is to bring out the different behavioural answers to new external stimuli, enrichment, among four different primate species. It will focus on how macaca sylvanus, macaca fascicularis, macaca nemestrina e chlorocebus pygerythrus react to the introduction of new enrichments. In this case, feeding enrichments will be offered to these species, and in sequence they will be observed for the same amount of time in order to observe the specificities of their behavioural answer to these novelties. Data will be collected all day long, before and after the introduction of the enrichments. In this way it will be possible to register the duration of the surprise, short term effect, and the behavioural responses of each species, medium term effects. Enrichments will be offered one at a time, to evaluate their different impacts on primates behaviour. I choose food enrichments in order to observe more easily and in detail each specie answers, and to bring out behavioural interspecific differences.
